- My Story
Let me introduce myself. My name is Nick Westerman, and I sell money! I was born to Cris and Jerry Westerman in March of 1979 in Portland Oregon. After moving to Nebraska, Oklahoma, Virginia, back to Oklahoma and finally to California, my family settled in Folsom. I attended elementary and graduated from Folsom High School. After attending American River College and Sacramento State University, I entered the real estate mortgage field. This pretty much covers the basic stuff, but there is something else I would like to tell you about me.
I was born with a condition known as Stargardts. Stargardts is an eye condition that attacks the central portion of my vision. This is very rare and believed to be genetically passed. No one could tell me, or my parents, what was wrong with my vision until I was 9. Dr. Randy First, an optometrist, although not an expert on the nerves in your eyes, was the man who first determined my condition. I will always be thankful to him. While there is nothing that can be done about the problem, at least now I can tell people what it is. Living with this has made me determined. As a legally blind person, even though I can see some, I draw inspiration from all that I can do. I have often been told how amazing it is that I do all that I do with this problem, to which I respond, “It is not any more amazing than what anyone else does in spite of the barriers that hold them back. We all have something to overcome!” That’s the reason I tell you this. I have learned throughout my life that everyone I meet has overcome obstacles and adapted to their surroundings. Those stories inspire me, and I hope that my own story will also inspire others. We as a species tend to overlook that which we overcome. It is only natural because that which we have over come is no longer a problem to us. However, it is in those stories that we truly can help others to overcome what ails them. I believe it is important to sit back from time to time and take a look at what it is that makes you, you. This helps us to be better employees, friends, parents, and most importantly spouses. I have been married for two years, so of course I know everything about marriage. Just kidding, but in all seriousness, I believe the most important thing in my life is my wife. She is my backbone, and the one thing I look forward to everyday. I have many other things I look forward to, but not every moment of everyday the way I do about my wife. Now that you have a little prospective on me I would like to tell you about what I do and ask you to let me know about you.
I manage loan officers and originate loans for Avalar Real Estate and Mortgage Network. My stepfather, and a very important person in my life, Rory Hoelker and his partner Russ Knapp, opened Avalar here in Folsom and asked me to join them two years ago. I have been in this business for 6 years and have helped many people buy and refinance their homes successfully. My number one goal is that my clients enjoy the service I give to them, and are proud to recommend me to others. I have turned down loans because I did not believe what the client was doing was truly in their best interest. I am with my clients hopefully for life not just for a commission check, but as a partner. I help my clients prepare themselves in their life from everything to current payments, to retirement, and all the levels in between. Over the years, I have developed relationships with other top professionals to provide my clients with the same level of service that I provide in fields such as financial planning, accounting, and real estate.
In closing, I would like you to read my blog as often as you have time and I will always include something I find inspiring for you. I would like to learn more about you also and would love to hear your story to inspire me. Please feel free to email me your story at firstname.lastname@example.org. I hope that this finds you in good health, and I look forward to hearing from you.
